Wilson's Creek National Battlefield Park (Republic Missouri)

My daughter and I are traveling to northern New Mexico this week and stopped at Wilson's Creek National Battlefield Park after a long day of driving.   

The park preserves and interprets the site of the 1861 Battle of Wilson's Creek, the first Civil War battle west of the Mississippi.   

We arrived after the visitor center closed but were able to tour the park's auto road and go on a short one mile hike.  There were numerous deer throughout the park.
