Lamoine State Park

Lamoine State Park is a popular park to camp during the summer due to its proximity to Acadia National Park and Maine’s coast.  Besides camping, the 55 acre waterfront park offers fishing, a boat ramp, a beach, and a one mile loop trail that skirts the perimeter of the park.

I hiked the loop trail and extended it by a mile by adding a loop inside the park’s vacant campground and walking along the beach.  The loop trail itself walks along the shoreline before turning away from the water into the woods.  At one point it gets close to the road outside the park before turning back into the woods.  The is an interesting “tree house” platform that can be climbed, although it does not offer any significant views from the top.

Here is a map of my hike.
