Hemlock Trail, Great Pond Mountain Wildlands (Bucksport)

We hiked the Hemlock Trail at the Great Pond Mountain Wildlands as the last hike of the year.  This short, 1.4 mile (roundtrip) out-and-back trail was well marked and considerably more fun than I anticipated.  The trail leads through a forest until ending at the Dead River.  It passes a few large rocks and at one point crosses a small stream, with a rope present to help with the crossing.
