Green Lake National Fish Hatchery (Ellsworth)
Faced with yet another weekend of intermittent rain, I decided to hike the trails at Green Lake National Fish Hatchery. The trail network has a 1.83 mile loop trail, with options to shorten the hike along the way (which would be useful should it downpour).
I hiked the full loop, and added a stop at the hatchery's fish tanks on the way back. This is an unexpectedly beautiful wooded trail system with slight elevation changes. At one point the trail crosses a power line clearing. Several small pine trees in the power line section had dog ticks on them. The final part of the hike was along a paved road.
Here is a map of my hike.
