Biking and Camping at Schoodic Peninsula (Acadia National Park)
I headed to Schoodic Peninsula after work today to camp and bike.
After checking in and arriving at my campsite I headed out by bike, taking the Frazier Point Trail to Schoodic Loop Road and returning on the Wonsqueak Bike Path for a total of 9 miles. This was a scenic ride along gravel bike trails through coastal forests and paved roads along rocky shores. After feeling like I was descending on much of the first part of the ride I expected the Wonsqueak Bike Path to be significantly harder than it turned out, and although it gains in elevation it was not that bad.
I camped at campground A. The campsites at Schoodic Woods are spaced a good distance apart from each, allowing for a more natural and private experience than the Seawall and Blackwoids Campgrounds.
