Kayaking the East Branch Penobscot River n/o Lunksoos Camps (Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument)
I went kayaking today at the Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument, paddling north on the East Branch of the Penobscot River from the Lunksoos Camps. The river in this area is wide, flat and slow moving and was a scenic trip as I paddled to the confluence of the Seboeis and Penobscot Rivers. I saw several bald eagles, blue herons, and kingfishers on the way and stopped briefly at the Big Seboeis Campsite to stretch my legs.
